Dakota Johnson’s style playbook is as eclectic as they come. She puts her uniquely gothic twist on red-carpet dressing, dazzling in a feathered pink Gucci gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars party this year, while also loving a good suit. Earlier that same day, she wore two precision-cut looks – both of which erred on the sultry side – during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Spotted out in New York City, the 32-year-old actor wore a velvety black suit by Patou that featured a double-breasted blazer and wide-leg tailored trousers. Johnson accessorised the look with black Jimmy Choo sandals, black square-frame sunglasses, and Patou circular brass earrings.
At the premiere of her film Cha Cha Real Smooth at the Tribeca Film Festival, actress Dakota Johnson opted for another sexy tailored number. This time, however, no trousers were required—as Johnson wore a white single-breasted blazer dress equipped with an open-back chainmail detail by New York-based label Area. To top it all off, Johnson threw on transparent pumps by Christian Louboutin, and a black Jackie 1961 Gucci bag.
Johnson draws our attention to two distinct but equally effective approaches to modifying the blazer within a day.
