An American tourist descended into Mount Vesuvius on a Sunday so that he could retrieve his mobile phone. Italian police officers have shared the information with CNN. A 23-year-old Baltimore man hiking an unauthorized trail on Mt. Vesuvius in Italy was rescued after falling about 40 feet, the Italian carabinieri said.
