Sanya, a popular tourist destination on Hainan Island off southern China's coast, is restricting tourists and residents after an outbreak of Covid-19. Public transportation was halted and people's movements restricted starting Saturday morning. Stranded tourists are required to stay for seven days and clear five Covid-19 tests before leaving. Authorities say around 80,000 tourists remain in the city. All those currently in Sanya as well as people who have been to the city since July 23 were not allowed to leave Hainan province after 6 p.m. local time Saturday. Taking a higher dose of vitamin D to protect your bones is not necessary if you are a healthy middle-aged or older adult with no existing bone disease or vitamin D deficiency, according to researchers at the National Institutes of Health. The study found that taking 2,000 IU (international units) a day of supplemental vitamin D3 without calcium over the course of more than five years did not reduce hip, wrist or pelvic fractures when compared with taking a daily placebo.
